Ever since I watched them playing devious little toddlers on Fullhouse, I knew I had started a life-long obsession. But now that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are 23 years old, just like me, and they are selling their glamorous West Village penthouse for $8.45 million, as though it’s an old sock they want to get rid of on eBay, I am just a little bit jealous.

I know that when I move back to Manhattan I will be living with my twin sister. But instead of frolicking from our fifth guest bedroom to our home office with Hudson River views, my sister and I will be sharing a bed and hanging our laundry out the window (Italian style, except that the window will be overlooking an air shaft). OH! The charms of Manhattan in your 20s when your parents didn’t take the initiative to make you a Kmart commodity at age 12.
