A day at Harvard Medical School is a less than surreal experience involving lots of eager type-A young adults with high IQs and a passion for very large text books.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t tough enough to handle the pressure, so I developed shooting pains in my stomach. Luckily, the lecture hall was a short walk to the nearest hospital emergency room. I ended up in a room next to a man with a bloody hand (he had sawed off his pinkie finger accidentally while doing a carpentry project).
Moral of the story: some people are not meant to go to med school (even for a visit), and some people aren’t meant to handle power tools. Sorry for the gruesome imagery, but I’m feeling particularly gauche after my adventure in the ER.
