A girl of 25 was out clubbing at the abrasive Manhattan hotspot, Marquee, and unfortunately, she left in the company of a serious sex offender, Michael Mele.  Perhaps he seemed like just another one night stand, or maybe even a potential long-term boyfriend, but that’s the problem with clubs: when you trust yourself to dark, murky atmospheres and vodka shots, you never know if it’s going to be Prince Charming or the creeper-killer of the month.

Laura Garza’s body was just discovered nearby to Michael Mele’s home in Pennsylvania. I hate to admit that I have been to Marquee before, just like every other 20-something girl who has lived in New York City. This dreadful news story only reinforces the importance of never trusting men who go clubbing in the night. It’s frightening to think how easy it is to fall for some guy’s line or to trust his crystal clear eyes and the fact that he was so generous with the drinks.
